WHOA! Wait a minute...

So, i started this blog on the day that I had my very first official appointment with the doctor.  And then... yeah. I didn't finish it.  So sorry to those who were anticipating an actual post on that day.  I'm terrible at this already :)

So the appointment was quite a surprise - I was expecting to get to see the heart beat, get measured, and see the little peanut that it is...expecting it to look more like a bean with a heartbeat really than anything else.  Well, as I sat there on the table with my good Jen Hale in the room as moral support (due to the fact that Brandon was out on the road), up pops the image of a BABY.  I could not stop laughing... and laughing more.  It had two arms, two legs, a body, a head, the umbilical cord... and it's a BABY! (I'm still laughing...)  I'm guesstimated at about 12 weeks, due roughly on July 29th... I think I might be further along than that, but only time will tell.

Brandon got home that evening and luckily for us, the Dr. office gave us a DVD of the ultrasound so he got to see exactly what I got to see... and he laughed as well (not as much as I did, though).  The thought of being preggers was weird enough, now I need to get used to having a baby in there!  And here is the first photo op for our kid:

It's a picture of a picture, lame I know... but it's what I got :)  So only a little bit longer until we can find out what we're having... I'm so excited to find out!  So many cute things out there to buy for both boys and girls...I just need to know- so I can start BUYING!!!  (I should wait anyways for the shower, right??? I've no idea what protocol is on this sort of thing...)

So, being sick has lightened slightly, but now cooking food is really difficult.  Not the smells (you would think the smells), but what the food looks like while cooking is what gets me.  The microwave and take-out menus have become my best friends :)  Hopefully that will end soon as well...

  1. Yeah you have a baby in there. I was always worrided it might be somehting else before I could see the proof! Can't wait to see what you are having too. Through my personal experinse I would wait for after the shower to go buy anything. But that can be hard! are you still working? How is ID treating you? If you come to UT you shouild let me know! I am always up for visitors!
