Pumpkins!!!

'Tis the season for pumpkins!

I love the fall!  Just a little cold, enough for a light jacket and a sweater with some comfy boots, leaves falling all around, and cold nights to cuddle up under a big blanket.  (as I write this, it's snowing outside - enough to cover everything... goodbye fall)

And of course, it's pumpkin hunting time!
Finding the perfect pumpkins to carve or decorate for Halloween.  In Rock Springs, there is no such thing as a pumpkin patch... there is a pumpkin walk however, that is in an alley way in old downtown.  We had fun taking Jack on an afternoon that Brandon had off to pick out some of those gorgeous orange gourds.

Not too sure about that Scarecrow

keeping an eye on one of the teenagers working there who scared him - a little too friendly for his liking

daddy and Jack

I found a sticker decorating kit at the dollar store and Jack was so excited to decorate his pumpkin

He's starting to "pose" for pics and say "cheese!"

Yes, Mommy helped a wee bit by placing the white eyes, the mouth, and his name - but the rest is ALL Jack

some cute posed outside pictures... we had to play "ready, set, GO!" in order for me to get some smiles (he runs from the front of the backyard to the fence and back again when I say ready, set, go... thank you cousin Mindy Olsen for introducing such a fun game!)

Jack and Daddy after all the pumpkins are decorated

all decorated and ready for the porch... although Jack can't seem to let them leave our kitchen table.  We took them outside once, and he kept opening the door and trying to bring them back in.  So on our table they sit until Halloween.  And every morning when Jack comes downstairs to get breakfast, he shouts "Pumpkins!" like he's never seen them before in his life...every day, and sometimes 2-3 times a day.  I love it.
